THE 3M Steri-strip S SURGICAL SKIN CLOSURE
INTRODUCTION:
A simple, non-invasive alternative to staples and sutures from the Steri-Strip family.
The unique, interlaced design makes it easy to align and secure wound edges quickly, without any additional anesthetic.
Steri-Strip S Surgical Skin Closure devices are color coded and numbered with a red,white and blue and 1-2-3 format to indicate the liner removal sequence.

• Skin closure for low-tension lacerations or surgical incisions.

• Reinforcement for wounds after early suture or staple removal .

HOW TO APPLY / PROCEDURE :
STEP 1. Open the pouch using sterile technique and remove the skin closure device. Peel back and remove the liner with the red 3M logo marked.
STEP 2. Pull the skin closure device apart as needed for application. Starting with one side and while holding the white liner marked .
STEP 3. On the side just secured, peel off the white liner marked.
STEP 4 .Hold both clear pulling tabs and blue liners marked 3 perpendicular to the wound.
STEP 5. At a 45 degree angle, draw skin closure device closed using clear pulling tabs in opposite directions. Approximate and align wound edges.
STEP 6.Lay the filament straps down on top of the clear adhesive pads when the wound edges have been properly aligned.
STEP 7. Press filament straps against the clear adhesive pads to secure the skin closure device. Smooth adhesive pads and filament straps to maximize adhesion.
STEP 8.Starting with one side, press on the filament strap(s) with your finger and gently twist off the pulling tab along the perforation(s). Repeat for other side of device. If desired, cover the closure with a bandage or dressing. Avoid placing the dressing adhesive directly over the skin closure device.
